Transforming lives, communities, and the world with clear vision.

At the Global Retina Project, we are on a mission to restore sight and transform lives. Join us in our journey to make the world a brighter, more inclusive place by ensuring that everyone has the gift of clear vision and a brighter future. Together, we can change lives, one eye at a time.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

2023

Over the course of our time in the Caribbean , our team screened more than 3,000 patients for retinal diseases using portable fundus cameras and OCT imaging. Patients with sight-threatening conditions, including proliferative diabetic retinopathy, received on-site laser treatment, while others were connected to local specialists for ongoing care. In addition to patient care, the team trained local healthcare providers on retina screening protocols and referral procedures, building sustainable capacity for long-term eye health in the region. The mission demonstrated the impact of targeted, retina-focused outreach in preventing vision loss and improving access to critical eye care services.

Todos Santos, Mexico

2024

In partnership with Sight is a Right, the Global Retina Project successfully completed a transformative medical mission in Todos Santos, providing essential eye care to 2,259 patients. Our dedicated team of 36 volunteers delivered comprehensive eye exams, health screenings for hypertension and diabetes, prescription medications, and critical referrals, ensuring access to high-quality vision care. We also distributed prescription glasses, reading glasses, and sunglasses, helping to improve both vision and quality of life for those we served. We look forward to returning in August to provide 668 pairs of custom prescription glasses for patients in need.
