The Global Retina Project is planning a five-day eye care mission to a village near Iquitos, Peru. This mission will target a remote community with limited access to ophthalmic services. Our team of qualified professionals will provide comprehensive eye exams to diagnose and treat vision problems. Portable technology will be utilized to ensure accessibility within the village setting. Additionally, the mission will incorporate educational workshops focused on eye health and disease prevention, empowering villagers to take charge of their long-term eye care. This initiative aims to address the unmet eye care needs of this Amazonian community.
Todos Santos, Mexico

The Global Retina Project recently partnered with Sight is a Right on a transformative mission trip to Todos Santos, Mexico. Their goal was to revolutionize retinal healthcare in the community. By utilizing cutting-edge technology, the team provided sight-saving screenings through AI and portable fundus cameras. They also laid the groundwork for a sustainable future by launching a teleophthalmology program, connecting local eye care specialists with US-based ophthalmologists for ongoing support. This pioneering mission aimed to not only address immediate needs but also empower the local healthcare system with the tools and knowledge for long-term retinal care.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica

The Global Retina Project recently conducted an impactful five-day eye care mission in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The mission provided a comprehensive suite of free services, including health screenings to identify any underlying conditions affecting vision, thorough eye exams by qualified professionals to diagnose eye diseases, and distribution of prescription glasses to improve sight. Furthermore, the mission addressed critical eye conditions by performing sight-restoring cataract and MIG surgeries, along with laser procedures. This impactful initiative aimed to not only address immediate vision needs but also ensure long-term access to essential eye care services for these communities.
